go to autozone and they have these little paint pens, its a little bottle and you find the right color and you can apply it with a ball point tip. and on the other side it has a little brush... i used one and it worked pretty well.

Justin, stang00 is correct..
I worked at autozone for 6 months...listen to this..
ON the sticker on the door well (near the lock where it says info) you should be able to read what says PNT=paint..then it will have a code after PNT, like DMB (dark metallic blue) or something.. You have to match up that code with the little paint applicator...it's IDENTICAL. DON'T take the paint outside and match it, even if it looks like it, it will be wrong.
It has to be EXACT. Autozones cpu's can sometimes bring up the paint code also, but it's better to read the sticker on the car (either in the door well or in the glove box)..

You need to determine when your car was made, or look at the sticker by the door jam. The year 2000 was the transition year for the color silver. Late 2000 ford made it slightly brighter. basically it goes like this
1999/2000 Darkest silver
2001/2002 lighter
2003/2004 brighter
here is a image of three silver mustangs. The CENTER mustang is a 2000, and if you look closely at it and compare it to the 2003 on the left and the 2001 on the right, you can see that it is darker than the other two. The mustang on the left is the lightest.

Before trying to use a paint pen I would highly advice trying to buff it out first. You can buff out some pretty deep scratches and it will look a lot better than a paint pen. If it doesn't work then yea go or the paint pen action.
