Ok, I have a 2002 Blazer Xtreme that I have been staring at for the past 3 years trying to figure out what if anything I want to do with it. Over these years it has been my daily driver so I really couldn't do anything too major too it without the worries of it being hit/stolen/etc.. I have just gotten a used 2000 civic sedan at an auction for 3500 so I'm mostlikely going to use that as my grocery getter. Now this leaves me with my blazer and what to do with it. Now my idea is this is going to be a major (years long) project. I am thinking about completely gutting the blazer out so all that is left is a body and chassis. Then basically turn it into a modern/retro hot-rod. Entirely new engine/drivetrain, and suspension setup. Along with the original body but the body will have many extreme modifications to it. just as brainstorming I plan on removing the rear body strip that cuts through the quarter panel windows then replacing that entire section with glass(kinda make it look like the old s10 blazers), chop the top and section the body, cut out the ridges in the roof and replace them with flat panels so the roof if is smooth, fabricate a grill similar to the stock one out of metal and then weld it to the hood so those are one piece(give that old style look) Replace all plastic ground effects with metal pieces that resemble the stock ones but will have a more defined look to them. I'm gonna stop here because I could go on for pages and pages. In the next month or so I'm going to begin the tear down (hopefully if everything goes according to plan). I just have never seen anything like this or heard of anyone doing such a thing so I believe the end product will be something out of this world. Any opinions, idea's, or curses you guys have to say would be greatly appreciated. I just love this car more than anything else I have ever seen and want to give it the justice it deserves. Peace-
