My '92 Buick Regal AC was working fine while I was driving one day and then suddenly started blowing hot air. Now when I drive it will blow cold for about 2 seconds then blow hot again.
I checked the hoses & belts and all are intact.
I did notice some oil in the overflow container, but I had that before and had it flushed. It never caused AC to blow hot air.
Any idea what is causing that?

Like HOTZ28 said , first check the freon...you can get a gauge pretty cheap....more important....oil in the reserve sounds like a serious problem...Check the motor oil and make sure it doesnt have foam in it... maybe a bad head or gasket?

Before I could check the freon the AC started working again. It worked for 3 or 4 days then started with the lukewarm to warm air again.
Is that still a systom of "no freon"?

No water in the oil, and I change the oil 3 to 4 times a year, but before I could check the freon the AC started working again. It worked for 3 or 4 days then started with the lukewarm to warm air again.

Do you have auto climate control? You could have a vacuum leak or a blender door actuator malfunction. When the air started working again, was it cold as it should be?

Yes, AC was as cold as ever, but as of 9/01 it went back to no coldness. It's like having the vents open. Doesn't get any colder or any warmer.
