my cars pretty slow :banghead: .. it wasn't always like this though ... my oil pan had a massive leak while a friend borrowed the car and this threw multiple rods ... the engine was replaced with a used 4afe engine just the same as it was ... i guess i should have researched more and found a better engine to swap in ... but too late ... i dont have that much money so i'd rather do some cheaper things to it for more pep ... no racing yet .. the rack and pinion has a massive leak so i took the belt off .. does this free up power at all? also the a/c brings on loads of lag in the engine ... this is a new problem with the new engine .. and it blows out a huge cloud of white smoke when starting up for the first time in a couple of days .. i busted out the inside of the cat though so that may be causing it ... i believe the valve cover gasket might be leaking ... could this be causing the oil on the plug boots? does that get in the cylinders? could this cause lag? also does having no backpressure hurt an engine? i removed the cat awhile back and it ran better but i couldn't take the noise or fumes ..especially since it was right under me .. one more thing ... has anyone found a cold air intake for this car? all i can find are universal kits and i heard those dont run as well because the velocitys not calculated ... if im going to drop that much money i want something worthwhile please any help would be great ... and remember tight budget mainly want to tune up

ebay has plenty of intakes for your car cold air and short ram just search. they also have headers if you want to spend a little more and have more power. it sounds like your car is havimg alot of problems so i would fix the mechanical stuff before i start to buy an intake and all that performance stuff youll be wasting $ if you put it on a crap[py engine.

Need some help??? Ha, you should have put Need a shiza load of help. Hahah, sorry, anyways, you best get all those problems fixed before modding, or go put the car in nuetral and floor the gas for five minutes, because that will give you the same end result if you mod without fixing. Work on getting everything fixed now, and get back on here to find more info later. Good luck,
