On my 95 GP, I bought new with 246K miles and she's still beautiful. However, I turn my key and nothing happens. The lights appear on my dash but the start doesn't turn. I replaced the starter, worked once. Replace starter again, No go.
What can be the problem..?

i would check the wiring...like most problems i would go to the root...starter not engaging....check power to starter...also could be ignition problem...i'm not sure how to check this...when GTPDAD or BNAYLOR reads this you will get a better answer...just a few questions.... when you turn the key, to start, do you hear any clicking, or at least one click....and....if the lights are on when you try to start, do they go dim at all?

Thank you for answering. I'm not getting any clicks. If it wasn't for the lights coming on (oil, abs, engine), it would appear to be a dead battery. I've never seen anything like this on my car and I will ADD, my fuel pump went out on the car last week. I took it to the shop to get replaced. Seem to be fine...until a week later. The car does not hesitate to start...it usually starts a the slight turn of the key.
Some guy at the store told me to use my other key because of the strip on my old key might be worn. I did but same thing. I was told I can also have someone turn my key to start it and jump the starter with a screw driver. I'm not sure about that or how to do that.
I checked the fuses and I'm a little frustrated. I have my kids this weekend and the car isn't working.

Either your ignition switch or neutral safety switch are the most likely culprits. Try starting the car in neutral instead of park. IF this works, then you need a new neutral safety switch. IF not, hook a test light to the small terminal on the starter solenoid, then have an assistant turn the key to start, does the test light light? IF it does, then you either have another bad starter, or your battery cannot deliver enough amperage to turn the starter. A battery can go bad and still operate the lights but be able to turn the starter. Check all your battery cable connections for oil, corrosion, rust, and make sure they are all tight. post back with the results and we can go further into it. IF the test light doesn't light, then it's either the neutral safety switch or ignition switch not sending a signal to the starter to engage.

OK... I just got back in. She is sitting in the parking lot of the grocery store (3 miles). I removed the started, cleaned all the areas really good from oil and also wire brushed the areas. Bolted it back...same results. CRAP!! Breathe...count backwards 10-1. Approach again. What I was told about a bad battery, I attempted to jump start. Nothing. Same thing.
I don't have a test light. If I turn the key to the On position, can I run a jumper cable from the positive battery post to the small starter connecter to "jump/bypass'?
The ignition fuses 2 - (40amp) look fine. Remember - I had my fuel pump replaced last week from someone. Is it possible they messed something up? Perhaps disconnected something?

Is it possible to Jump the starter? Can I turn the key into the on position and than touch the two connecters on the starter - power and the little switch to at least get the starter to jump?
