Hi, I recently started up my 88 Maxima the other day after it has been sitting for a couple months in the driveway undriven. That wasn't wise to just leave it sitting there of course and the first problem was a dead battery. After that problem was fixed, on came another. The check engine light is on and after driving it for 15 minutes or so it starts to overheat. Also, when accelerating from a dead stop the throttle feels unresponsive/slow and underpowered. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? The car has just sat there so I didn't think something major would be wrong with it besides a dead battery, then again I'm far from being a mechanic... Thanks for the help!

... what could be wrong? ...
The problem could be ? unter da hood...
I'd start openin it, checking all fluid levels. Ignition, check/repair/swap : wires, cap, plugs. Then filters, belts. Try to find a repair manual to educate uself: see Favorite Links at left

Congratulations, you may have just starved your engine of oil, and now you need a new engine once the old one seizes.
