Played Out/ Overdone

What are some trends in the car world that seem like they are done way to much? This doesn't mean that they aren't cool, just overdone, or "played-out."

1. WR Mica Blue Subaru's with Gold Rims
2. AEM $79.99 CAI's
3. Work Meisters (They are still really cool though)
4. Bride Seats (Another cool item, but open any tuner mag, and I will guantee you will see a dozen cars with Bride Seats)
5. Neon Lights (They just got Rice)
6. Yokohama Advan Rims: Gold
7. Color Change Paint (Played Out)
8. Honda Civics :grinno:

ZO6 rims on an F-body. I think they look really nice 99% of the time but sooooo many of them have'em it just makes me sick.

Andy 2g DSMs are soo played out hommie. JK haven't talked to you in a while. I don't have AIM at the moment but am currently lloking at buying my own 1g DSM with my own money in the spring. TTYL Dude

Color Change paint is not played out at all. It needs to be done correctly though, not just shoot the entire car with chamelion(sp?) paint. Wheels in my opinion are the biggest played out thing on car's these days. When I'm driving around I'm like wow those are stock cool. Don't get me wrong aftermarket wheels are nice as long as their tastefull, and the wheels are not worth more than the car. Also, wheels sticking outside of the fenders (except on the cars that actually need that much traction). Tint too. Whatever happened to the days where the only tint you could get was black? none of this mirrored or colored shit. Cherry bomb mufflers, I pray for the day when I can go out and not hear that god-damned buzzing noise. And the biggest in my opinion is bass! Ok, I've got subs in my car but when I drive around you can't fucking hear them from like 20' away or in another car. When you go to an auto shop you should have to recieve approval before buying parts, if it's cheasy and makes your car look stupid, the employees should kick you in the nuts. Peace-

The problem is the employees themselves tend to be ricers. What about euro plates that have something in english written on them like "evosport", "neuspeed", or "promini". How about "JDM Gold" as a played out color.

They aren't played out b/c there aren't any here (save for about 150) People just think its way too good of a car, people there not that great. Yeah I know my name is SkylineMan, and its because I really like them, but I will be the first to tell you that and EVO, STi, and a FD are faster than a US converted GTR. Screw SRTs, b/c I know one of you (Andydg1) is gonna bring that up.

I couldn't agree more. The Skyline is and should be well respected, but so many think they are unbeatable.

Hey now...I wouldn't bring up an SRT(4) against a Skyline. But for the price you can't really beat it going with a new car. The Cobalt is pretty nifty though.

They are neither exotic nor prestigious anymore, Bentleys, Rolls, Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche Etc.

Tips. Why would anyone need an exhaust tip?

Neon colored interior pieces/carbon fiber/fake toggle switches to make your passenger think you got nos/white out kits/anything you put on the car in the USA with Asian writing on it and oh yeah spoiler's that are larger than the cars they are put on. I think thats about all for me. Oh yeah and one more 18's - 22's on a car that originally had 12's - 14's rim's.

Another good one is whistlers in the exhuast(anybody seen these things?) they put a tab of metal welded into your exhaust so it screams and you can hear from like a mile away. They're all over the fucking place here in miami. Peace-

Well yeah i don't like them but, the first time i saw/heard it i thought it was pretty entertaining and who ever came up with had a interesting idea. But, now that they're all over the place (at least down here) it's very much "played out." Generally parts that are "played out" are parts that the general automotive community doesn't like. They don't like them because THEY'RE PLAYED OUT! get it? Peace-

Played Out? American Racing Rims. I see them damn things everywhere. They're on compact cars, pickups, and everything inbetween. I've even seen them on golf carts.

Something being played out is definatley euro backlights, man those things are EVERYWHERE.

Spinners, "Lambo doors", 10ft Spoilers, body kits, basically any doo-dads that cost <$5 that are bought b/c they are cheap, stickers....too many to list.

Stick-on hood scoops and stick on fender louvers.

Whoa never seen any stick on hood scoops, also another thing I havent seen is roof scoops and I think those look cool.

Drifting. Especially in New Zealand, our drift cars are so shitty that it's embarassing.

So is removing factory spoilers that have been windtunnel tested and all only to worsen the aerodynamics, but at least the car is less rice boe.

Carbon is not played out except to ricers. Carbon is truly one of the best materials ever made due to lightweight and its incredible strength. Its only flaw is cost.

the cost? Are you kidding? It's cheap. Carbon fiber hoods are half the price of a steel hood. You can get carbon fiber parts cheaper than OEM usually.

underbody neons for sure. I know its been said, but I'm gonna agree with that. They were cool at first when there were just a few people on top of it, like me, but now it's just ridiculous.

And those fuckin windshield nozzles. At first I thought they were cool, but now I despise them.



But whoever was talkin shit about dudes wearing their hats backwards, and driving with one hand... some people just prefer to drive like that. And some people wear backwards hats. some people do both. I personally wear my hat backwards sometimes, and I always drive with one hand on the wheel and the other on the shift knob. I don't think about it, I just think that's the most comfortable way to drive. So don't hate on that...

So you're saying you like listening to thundering bass from other cars while driving around? I could honestly care less about that because it's like whatever. But, when I'm sitting at home and these god damned kids drive up and down the street all night long blasting their systems to the point where everything in my house is vibrating it makes me want to go and buy a desert eagle. Sub's are great they complete the all-around sound, but when I'm sitting in my house and someone drives down the street(20+' away) and it sounds like I have a 1K 12" turned up all the way sitting in the middle of my living room I tend to get a little annoyed. There's a time and place for blasting stereo's. Either in the middle of no where, at a show, or driving around in the middle of the day. Not cruising through neighboorhoods at like 2 in the morning. If you think that is cool then you need to seriously grow up and take some herbal supplements or something, because no matter how loud your stereo is it won't make up for the fact that you still have a 2'' dick. Peace
