99 Rodeo wont start

I have a 99 Rodeo that ran fine up until 2 days ago, and now it the starter wont engage. I have plenty of juice from my battery, and all fuses are good, inside and in the engine compartment. If I remove the sylenoid wire and jump it, my vehicle starts fine, with now hesitation in the starter.
Is this a common problem or one in a million? I can trace wires all day, or ask if this has happened to anyone, and in the TX heat I prefer the latter!
Any Ideas???
