O2 sensor question.. NEED QUICK RESPONSE

OK.. sorry for the multiple posts on one subject but I need a FAST answer to this.
So I'm installing the new 4-2-1 header I just got, and it moves the O2 sensor down near the cat. The header came with a little extension on the wire but I'm not sure how to run it back up to the original plug.
Do I go all the way back to the engine with the extension? Or just to where it plugged originally? The original goes back into a LOT of insulated wires and I don't want to tear it all apart.
I just don't know how to run the wire without having it touch anything hot. Should I go up around the front of the block or straight up from the secondary pipe?

do it the way that provides the least amount of excess wire. Sounds like you are freaking out :) It's just a car, don't stress it to much. If something on it breaks, it can be fixed. always remember that, and your jobs will go alot smoother.

Too much has gone wrong already.
Didn't have a 1/2 inch drive for the O2 socket, so no idea how tight that is. Currently need to find a 1/2" extension for the torque wrench so I can tighten the nuts to the block.. as you can probably tell we don't have a huge assortment of tools.

Ok.. well now am I fucking allowed to flip out. Fucking torque wrench didn't stop at fucking 23 lb-ft, resulting in the nice break of one of the god damn bolts that come out of the block. So now I have to have it towed to get fixed at Honda while meanwhile I have no fucking way to get to work.

If you're talking about one of the ones that holds the header on; I'd personally just attach it with the other bolts and drive it to get the bolt in the morning, and put it in right before work. Probably not a good idea, but I'd assume the other bolts would hold fine for a little while.

Drill a small hole in the bolt then put a screw in there with some J/B weld on the thread. Let it dry and you might be able to get it out yourself. I just did this 2 days ago and it worked.

you must have put alot of pressure on it, because, i actually use those threads to hold the engine up with my engine lift.

I was tightening the nut onto the bolt and apparantly the torque wrench didn't stop at 23 lb-ft because all of a sudden crack.
Now I'm waiting for Honda to get back to me. We were almost finished too.. just had to tighten up everything.

actually, those bolts are extremely weak in an aged engine. When i was putting my header on @ 112,000 minles, three of them broke with hardly any force at all on a 3/8's ratchet. I had just started to tighten them up and they broke. I even am still missing the far left one on the bottom, and have been driving like that for 30,000 miles with no leaks. I have learned to replace all of the bolts from now on when installing a header. I think i may finally tackle that bolt in the head sometime soon, as i am tired of it missing. You should be able to get it out with a 90 degree angle drill and an extractor set. They usualy come out by hand once you break them loose.

Considering that it took us the better part of like 5 hours to even do the header itself, I don't think I'm mechanically inclined enough to fix it.
