Whos Staying ? ( Silver lining ?)

i was just wondering who all is staying ?? cause i feel as long as we have Kevin ( 95GSXracer ) that this forum will never fall completly, we have all been slowed down, not stoped. As long Kevin and most of whos left of the senior members stay ill stay.

We also have Josh, he seems prity devoted already, hes talking about a DSM shop opening near him and getting the guy from that shop to help out here with the more techincal questions that arise along the way.

i just wana say thanks to Kevin for not leaving us cause i know for a fact that when i post somthing all i do is wait for him to post in it LoL, and to everyone else whos staying, theirs no getting around it, if Joe or Jake really cared about you then they would still be here.

I duno why i made this post, i guess i just felt i too had to get some things outa my brain about our change, and i feel this post would be more of a Silver lining to remind you guys that they were more knowledgable than most of us, but they were not the only ones on this site that knew alot about DSM's.

to me its just an encouragement to try to learn as much as i can as fast as i can so that-a-way i dont have to be so dependent on other people.

im staying, and im gona try to do what i can to help this site get up off its knees, what about you?

I'm trying to do what i can for this forum. Also i've been checkin the IWC thread, and i've got a few ideas for this forum by this forum that i've passed on to Administration. And i dont think it will be a problem. Thank you all who are sticking with us.

Their are still very experienced E/L/T owner in here. We just need to move on. Our former mods laided the foundation for what this area of AF is now today. As long as we use decent grammer, puncations, SEARCH button and clear thoughts I think every thing will be fine.

I wouldn't be covered in grease right now if it weren't for the knowledge and people of this forum. I'm not much of a contributor but I'll be here and try to more actively help out where I can. I hope Joe, Jake and Lando come back but I fully support whoever is working to calm the choas and bring it back to a forum where people feel comfortable again. Even if they are asking about turboing their RS :) .

I am staying, because i think Josh and 95GSXracer, and other people on this forum are very knowledgable and can help out a lot of people, i am tired of people saying that this forum is going to go down the drain now just b/c of 3 people. i know that they were VERY knowledgable, but how often has Jake posted here in the past few months??? seriously like hardly any and Joe hasnt really done to much either lately and we are all still alive and the forum is still going strong. We all just need to give Josh and who ever the new mod will be a chance seriously everyone PLEASE stop crying about this incident life goes on.

I will probably stick around... hopefully jake's craftsmanship is as good as he says it is and I won't need to post any questions to problems I might have....

I'm still going to be here. I love this place. I like to think that I know alot about DSMs, (mostly N/T). Alot of people still have the old school N/Ts.

I'm also staying because I got my lil project (DSM3D) that I think everyone can benefit by.

Give it time. I don't see why people are getting banned or any of that crap. This all started with one problem, and now no one either wants to be here or can be here. It just doesn't make sense. I've been banned form lots of forums in the past (mostly programming), but they were all for good reasons. People voicing their opinoins should not be a bannable offense. Whatever way it is, we should drop all this crap and get back to normal. We're all here to help each other out, and that is what I will continue to do.

They helped make this place what it is but just because a few "top" people are gone doesn't mean we have to let this place fall apart. Another "all-knowing" DSM person will take over eventually. And honestly the majority of the posters and people who help with questions are just regular people like you and me. The people make the forum...Everything sucks right now but in a month or so when things have cooled over things will get back on the right track.

Of course I'm staying. I owe this forum. This forum is what brought me the knowledge of DSM's. Hell it is becuase of this forum that I even own a DSM. I think now it's up to some of the older members, like me, shpyder, scottsee, and of course Kevin (95GSXRacer) to help use the knowledge that we've gained to help all the new poeple and answer all the questions that pop up....... even the neon light questions. Scottsee is very knowledgable, He knows about as much as Jake and JoeWagon did. I learned alot from Kevin teaching me about performance parts and upgrades. I know pretty much all the performance pathways and modifications that can be done to the eclipse, and all the needed supporting mods. Plus I have a good friend whos a 17 year Mitsubishi Mechanic at Riverside Mitsubishi.

This forum will stay strong as long as it has some support and knowledgable people. And we have both so as long as we don't let it fall, it will stay strong as ever.

I didn't say that I know all the DSM tech or anything like that, All I was saying is that I know all the mods and supporting mods people would need to get there cars whereever they want them. And I was saying that I know a 17 year Mitsubishi Mechanic that will gladly give his assistance if it's needed. Also I was trying to give Kevin the credit for showing me most of what I know regarding DSM's. I gave you your credit too bro and I said that you know as much as Jake and Joe did.

My point in saying that was that there are many people here that still know some information about DSM's and all of us still have things we can learn. Like me, I don't have any clue on how to tune my damn car..... I know the mods and there capabilities, and I even have DSMLink, but I dont have any Idea on how to tune. Now there may be someone that knows how to tune, but doesn't know much about the mods and what they'll need to run 11's. See, we can help eachother. Thats the point of a message board.....

The reason they share the same IP is he is using my computer :) He used to use my account but i talked him into starting his own if you look under the Jetta forum at DLR i have made a few posts there under this name. Also i think there are a few about a clicking turn signal prob or something. If you would unban his account that would help that way he is not using mine to look around.

You guys gotta remember that Jake and Joe made this place what it is, but they also tried to take it down and ruin it for everyone. So while you are appreciating what they did, you also need to frown on their recent actions, and then move on and forget about this whole thing. They are a thing of the past now. Let's focus on the future of this forum, and try to improve the site in ways they couldn't.

I told this to people a year ago when I tried to get some changes around here but no one cared so I fucked off, it still hasent changed, well the T/E/L forums did get merged, I took me 6 monthes of lobbying and it still didnt get done when I left.I figured if they cant merge 3 forums together then it isnt worth my time.

Are you serious? Lobbying to have three forums merged?. The admins like some of the members lead very busy lives and sometimes these changes need to be thought out to make sure they are in the best interest of the entire forum/site. So forums like the camaro and firebird forums chose not be merged and cause the members wanted to remain seperate despite being same car with different body panels. Its not about what you think should be done, its about what is in the best interest of the members (all of them).


Also we are the nazi's who are trying to brainwash everyone, right Joemathews ? but yet your arguing that everyone here are all sheep but yet your sure your argument is the correct one and as you put it this forum sucks real bad but your only reason to keep posting is to what convince everyone your viewpoint is the correct one?. Solution? There was no problem. This forum existed fine independent of the random mods from other parts of the site coming in to interfere. Igor had everything he needed. He had a team of a few very experienced guys to answer questions and help the noobs, all of whom used good grammar and clear communication. If that communication occasionally served to discipline naive newbies or to illustrate a point, no big deal. Profanity has never been used in excess on this forum.

Bottom line is that this forum was a great resource, with a wealth of stickies contributed by dedicated members, several of whom are now banned. Do you think I'm going to stick around and answer questions for the noobs now? Not if I'm going to be treated like these mods treated Chris, Jake, and Kris. You can bet that if I were threatened to be banned, I'd try to delete the content I created for the benefit of the site and the people reading it. No one who has contributed that much deserves to be treated the way those guys were.

I am expressing an opinion because I am very upset about how veteran members of this forum, who contributed to putting money in Igor's pocket by attracting and maintaining membership on this site, were treated. Here are my main points.

1) Jake may have engaged in some troublesome business dealings, and I can understand you wanting to take away his moderator status for liability reasons. After that, it would be his decision whether or not to return to the forum. He should not have been banned.

2) Once you make a moderator a moderator, provided he/she has not blatantly allowed a forum to get out of hand (which Chris hadn't), you should not exercise Nazi power over that person by telling him how to do a job you are not paying him to do.

3) Kris illustrated a great point with a funny (albeit somewhat vulgar) metaphor. You banned him on a whim. I've read content 10 times that bad on this site with no consequences.

I'm assuming you all are buddies with Igor, and he lets you do what you want on his site--which is terrible business practice for him. You march in here like you know shit about DSMs, and kick the veteran members out on unsubstantive charges. Best of all, you ask everyone to remain calm and not get upset.

Thats how I got banned by another "holier than art" moderator, he told me off, so I told him off and I get banned, like is that how this site works? He didnt even know what the hell he was talking about either, lame :loser:

So once Chris was made a moderator he should do whatever he wants without using the same guidelines that every other moderator on this site has to go by? He did it to purposely mock me and my authority as a representive for this site and that type of behavior will not be tolerated. I then went easy on him and he broke the rules once again by returning and contacting me to throw insults. I did as he requested and banned him and then was nice enough to offer a return in exchange for a apology which he refuses to give. He doesn't want to return. The door is open he will not walk threw it.
