Hey everybody,
I am happy to report that my car is fixed.
I bought a 95 Thunderbird, after my BMW broke. I got an awesome deal on it, $1500 87700 miles, 4.6V8, fully equipped, but the check engine light was on. A shop had tried to fix it, they cleaned MAF, EGR. The code said "Lean on Bank 1 and 2".
I replaced the upstream O2 sensors, after that, the codes changed to "MAF or VAF sensor input Low". I scanned it at AutoZone, went in and got a new MAF, and that has been the end of the check engine light.
Changing the O2 sensors was somewhat difficult, because I couldn't get the one on the passenger side out, not enough room. I ended up cutting the cables off and it came right out. Put the new one in, tightened, hooked it up and I was in business. I waited a while, and of course the check engine light came back on, with the new codes.
**I did remember to disconnect the battery**
Thanks to all of you who helped me out with this, I appreciate it very much. Thanks again!
