I've seen a couple run in the 1/4. One was stock, the other one had a boost controller and new piping
Stock = 14 flat
Modified = 13.1 at 17psi

I've heard stories of people running 13.9 or 13.8 in a stock one at a sea level. I can't say if its true or not, seems a little extreme to me. Course a friend of mine ran a 9.2 in the 1/8 in his, thats usually a solid 13. Unless the WRX doesn't have a strong 3rd, which from what I've seen, it does.

THE LAST TIME I WAS AT THE TRACK( OOPS FORGOT THE CAPS LOCK ON) i seen a WRX impreza with a cat back running 13.8-14.00 all day long.
does that sound reasonable?
He had a 3" cat back exhaust with 3" inlet on the high flow muffler. Thats why i went out and got mine done:D
i havent taken the car to the track yet, but when i do i will post the time slips. Cant wait to lauch ....yellow yellow GREEN=lauch that motha fuka

I'd have to agree with everyone also. The older shape, any year, usually run a high 13/ low 14 at around 100 mph depending on driver/ temp, etc.
I think the new gen runs a high 14 due to the extra weight factor.
In an MY99 WRX, I ran a 13.1 @ 106 mph with only full 3" exhaust, cold air intake (to the factory air filter box) and the boost wound up to 17psi.

low fourteens depending how good the driver is. *maybe* you could dip into the 13.9x's if you get a PERFECT launch, run a manual transmission (obviously), sea level, dry weather and and iced the intake tract.:p
wrx rocks

You've run 11.13 @ 143 mph Wimmig?
What Drag strip did you do this at?
A car that runs 143 mph is capable of running a high 9 - you must have about 500hp @ all wheels.

Yeah dude, that car is pretty zippy.
One of my excessivly rich friends took me for a ride in his (bought it last month I guess), he was lettin his engine get broken in still I guess but its a really zippy car.
He was telling me about an import show out west (on Irving Park rd. for all you chicago folk...:) ) and he was telling me about how with about 10-20 psi of that miracle forced air, the WRX can run around 12's with good drivers and a good day.

Damnit! All these WRXs doin 11s,10s, and even a fu*king 9!?? Damn. And the US gets stuck with the slower models(which im happy that at least they gave us a WRX,unlike the mitsu lancer, or a renamed mirage):D But still, why do we always get cars that are toned down a bit? or toned down all the way (fake mitsu lancer here in the states)? Well, when(or if) the "real" Lancer comes to the states, it'll prolly be toned down a bit too, oh well. By that time, I wanna see which car will get better 1/4 times(Lancer vs WRX) in stock form here in the states! And speaking of Lancer, anyone know when its comin here anyway?

the major resons we get toned down cars are:
1: emissions standards
2: octane availablity, other countries have higher available octanes than we do, cars in the use are required to run at 93 octane or lower

Not just emission standards, but crash/structural standards as well. I believe for the Evolution, they had to redesign the front of it to be more structurally sound. Regarding when the Evo is coming, they should be here in 2003 I believe. I have seen on the net that a company in Southern California has already received some Evolutions. Let me see if I can find the link.

I'm not sure if they're importing them and making them USA legal or what but you can check it out for yourself.
Another link with some more info.

2 thoughts on this threads latest twist.
1st - othe rcountries get 'de-tuned' models too. In Australia, our Spec S and Spec R Nissan S15 200SX are seperated by a spoiler and a sunroof, as opposed to about 20kW in Japan. The new travesty that is Integra power outputs I will not even mention.
2nd - there is a good reason for not getting de-tuned cars. IN Australia, we got 400 Subaru WRX STi's in 1999 that were 2 door models. ABout 100 of them melted number 2 piston within a month of being on the road.
