Keyless entry

I am having problems with my keyless entry. I have had the key fob checked--the battery is good and it is sending signals, but it still won't unlock the car. I checked the fuses--they're good too. Someone told me it might be the part that receives the signal from the remote. Can you tell me where that is? How do you replace it? Has anyone done this before? Any help you have would be great!

Did you try reprogramming the remote.
Maybe something was reset in the car's receiver, not allowing it to work.

Yes, I held both the lock and unlock buttons down together for 7 seconds like the owner's manual said to reporgram the remote. It still doesn't work. Any other ideas out there on what could be wrong? I think maybe the receiver is bad. Where is it located on the car? Could it be something I could replace on my own?

Ive been told the keyless entry recever on my 98 4 door is on the left side of the dash on the right side of the instrument cluster, but it could depend on what year and if its a 2 or 4 door i think. im also having problems with mine (wont work at all) so im trying to figure out the keyless entry as well.

Sounds like its the receiver. I will check my manual though (mines a 00' though). I think you can set different "modes" such as not letting the doors lock when car is put in gear etc. I just kind of skimmed the section though.

there are tons of posts regarding this subject. It requires more than just hitting the two buttons on the remote to re-program a transmitter. Type in re-program remote into the search this thread box and follow the instructions given, keeping in mind that you have to do the step involving turning the ignition key quickly to enter programming mode.
