New to these forums. i have a 97 gs-t with hks bov, skunk2 racing cams and intake. i just did the timing belt and all other belts during that process. when i make a sharp turn at like 20mph or more my car just shuts off. sometimes i have to wait a few seconds b4 it will start again. its been happening b4 the belts were changed. the car has been through a recent tune up also. any suggestions? i dont race the car and neither did the previous owner.

Welcome! You must have more then just those mods. Hks wont bolt on to the stock uicp. List your current mods in your signiture box. Click the User CP hyperlink up top.

I must say, that is quite an intresting issue you have. I've never heard of that happening before. I have no idea how to help you..

i dont know what to tell you scottsee, all i bought for the car was an hks supersequential blow off, an injen intake (which is hooked up to the blow off valve) and skunk 2 racing cams. i clicked on the cp hyperlink and updated my profile but i dont see a place to list the mods done to my car. anyway the only other thing i can think about is maybe the powersteering belt is too tight? it squeaks slightly when i first start up when the car is cold. i just replaced it though.

how much gas do you have in the car when it does this, or does it do it no matter what fuel level?

my guess is the power steering pump and belt. some how that got messed up while you did your install. therefore when turning sharp and putting a load on the PS pump. it kills the motor, becasue it must put pretty big load on the crank.
this is just my therory so it might not be the problem. some one correct me if this sounds wrong.

My fuel level does not affect the car cutting off while turning.

I never checked the PS pump nor do i know how to check the ps pump, any suggestions?

does it do it if you sit parked and turn the wheel all the way to one side?

yeah that would be a good test, because if the engine cuts off then, then it almost has to have something to do with your power steering, b/c that the only thing that really could do it while not moving.

car does not turn off if in neutral and wheel is locked to one side, also i heard not to lock your wheel if you can avoid it, ive heard it can cause problems. car is a manual and i always use super when fueling the car, i dont know if anything makes a difference.

Seems like it could be something loose. Have you check the relays and fuses? Also check the connections on the coil-packs. If it doesn't do it when you parked the lateral force may just move something out of place. Could also be a loose connection on the fuel pump.
