What's the difference between a cast iron block and an aluminum block? what would the advantages be for each? BTW, this doesn't really fit into any certain category so i decided to post it in the highest volume section.

Well, a cast iron block (found in DSMs) is heavier, but can handel much more booste with out having to upgrade the internals. An aluminum block is lighter, but you cant booste it for shit. i think that pretty much sums it up. there are probably a lot of other pros and cons, but that is the biggest one i can think of

That doesn't make sense. Most stock Honda/Acura sleeves are cast iron. And the stronger internals is what allows them to be able to handle the boost, not the block. Think about it. When you are going to boost on a Honda engine, do you replace it with a cast iron block? No, you replace the sleeves, rods, pistons, and possibly the crank; so it can withstand the pressure.

Cast is cheaper....but heavier
Aluminum is lighter....but costs more, and can warp more easily if overheated
