My wife's '92 Park Avenue's engine stalls after driving 10 miles or more. It has plenty of battery (brand new) and the engine will turn over (and over and over) but no ignition. After waiting 10 or 12 minutes the car starts right up. This has happened several times in the past month.
It sounds almost like a re-settable circuit breaker but any manual I own on the vehicle does not indicate that a circuit breaker protects any fuel or ignition related components.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks, Paul

Sounds like your crank-sensor is on it's way out.

Yes Sharo, it is a 3800 motor with three ignition coils toward the front.

Sounds like your iignition control module is overheated hence why it will restart after sitting a bit and cools down.

If it is stalling, you should have some stored codes. Sounds like another case of crank sensor blues!

I had almost the same problem with my 92 PA. A mechanic said crank sensor problems was indicated in the computer's memory, but I replaced the oxygen sensor (quite easy to get to also), and every starting/stalling problem disappeared.

Sorry my friend, an oxygen sensor will not cause an engine to stall and not start for ten minutes!! "Almost the same problem", is not the same problem. :lol2:
