"Eric Spitznagel, author of the "Junk Food Companion," reminisces that he had several lengthy childhood debates over this same issue. In the end, however, the only discernible difference he could note between fancy ketchup and regular ketchup was that the fancy stuff is only available in fancy restaurants -- like McDonald's."
hahahah

C'mon, it's the price. You pay for fancy. You pay less for regular.
Ketchup/Catsup. Should start a poll. I'm sure the Aussies would chime in with, "Nah mate, it's tomahto sauce" :)

Who brought up vegimite?
The trick is all in the spread. Too much tastes like crap, too little tastes like bread.
And the difference between sauces is all in your head. But buy the expensive stuff to make you look rich to any of your mates that use it...
(hey, this is prety good for a piss post eyie!)

Obviously there is a difference. Say you go to the regular grocery store and buy the shitty tomatoes that are all pink and gushy and then make catsup out of them. This is how you get shitty ketchup. Now go to the whole foods store and buy good organic tomatoes i.e. heirlooms that cost like 5-10bucks a lb. and make ketchup out of them, thats how you get fancy catsup. Or just do what most restaurants do, buy a case of the "fancy stuff" (comes in a glass bottle, with some french name) use that up, then re-fill the bottles with sysco brand. ketchup is ketchup unless its catsup. Who eats that crap anyway, dip your fries in mayo (then you can pretend you're french. Peace-
