Bosch Platnum +4's

Early this summer I changed my plugs over to +4's and did my wires at the same time. Now I know that a lot of people don't like these bosch plugs and say to run NGK's. Lately I have noticed that some times my car will idle kinda rough and the RPMs will fluctuate a little below normal, anybody think it's the plugs causing it?

Could be. Those plugs don't have the best spark. You want it centered, and they spread it out.
I would get Delco plugs if you can. Probably the best right now for the car. Gonna be a little costly though.

Possibly, i know i changed mine out for some delco and it's run like as raped ape (uhoh, stole someone's quote). I think Morley or Wirhgtz28 said delco is the way to go, boschs were fouled out at only 500 miles.

Yeah, Bosch was good when they first started pumping out the platinum plugs, but as of late, their quality assurance program has gone to the dogs.

Plus, mutliple tip plugs are gimmick anyways, like Mr. Louis said, sure, you're spreading the spark around, but unless you've vamped the ignition set up a bit, it's a cooler spark than a standard platinum and killing your coil(s).

One other thouht: I wonder if it also could have something to do with gasoline compositions changing over the years too?

Well, I may have to think about changing them out then, maybe next summer...

I agree also, why? Delco plugs aren't that expensive, are they? And changing on your car is probably easy too, right?

Well, I don't really see the point in changing them right after I changed them it doesn't run that badly just everyonce in a while, plus doesn't really make sense to me to change them right before I park it for the winter... No they aren't too bad to change but I just don't see the point right now. So back up off my case

Nah, they're not expensive, not verusus how much gas would be wasted running old ones.

Oh, a 4th gen bay is pretty tight Link, especially if it's an 8, half the motor is under the damn dash.

I'm actually getting better gas milage now than I used to so don't give me that crap either...

Alright chill out. You didn't mention storing it for the winter I would believe both Louis and I thought from your first post that it WAS running bad. That's why we asked WHY.

Sorry, I live in MN where the winters are long and cold and people don't know how to drive so we salt the shit out of the roads up here, so I store it for the winter. It only does this once in a while, othertimes it will run like a spot of grease, and this is only at idle when I drive it it is fine. I think Lous is right it's the fact that the spark is spread out and it's probably not igniting right. So maybe if I get ambitious I will do it before winter but I doubt it. Thanks for the advice guys...

Link, you're alright wasn't you.

CamarosRsweet94, that's all fine and dandy, I tried to say that you didn't mention you going to park it in a bit. But really, if you want help man, you need to A give a lttle more insight, and B a little more receptive and open minded to the help and opinions in which you seek.

So whatever, everybody's cool? I cool and I'm out.

Edit, and I also aplogize, it's not in my nature to blow a fuse either

shouldnt be to hard when the motor is out of the car, right?

CamarosRsweet94, no one was really getting on your case, they just thought your car was running real bad, they tell you to switch plugs and it should run better and then you say you will do it next summer and no one could have known you was gonna be storing it for the winter thats why they wanted to know why you would wait a whole year to change your plugs if they were making your car run poorly :S

well anyway, everyone knows why, so its all good.
