A 10" MTX Thunder8000 powered by a 760w Pioneer. It is just enough to be heard inside, but not enough to be noticeable outside. I love it.

i actually think my girlfreind enjoys it more than i do i also have the nicest sony xplod head unit they make witch also comes w/ the handy dandy little remote so i dont have to move my hand that extra 6-9 inches to actually mess w/ the deck *btw she enjoys that more than i do aswell

just a quick opinion question me and a buddy were discussing last night, do you think speakers can wear out? i dont mean like wear out when you hook your 300 watt sub up to a 1000 watt amp, i mean if everything is "proper", over time, do you think the speakers eventually start sounding shittier, i dont mean like a month or 2 either, i mean like 2-3 years

Yeah, speakers/subs can wear out on you. I think under normal circumstances, it would take a long time, but if you play them a lot and they endured harsh temperatures, it will happen sooner.

after about 10 years almost any speakers are gonna sound like complete shit i know from driving a 86 accord w/ stock speakers in it when i pulled the speaker covers off they basically disentagraded in my hands and im not joking i would say around 20 years is when they stop existing

As of right now I am running a Stock Infinity Stereo system. Come Saturday I will have 4 infinity perfect kappa 12" power by a Cadence ZRS10 (Mono Block amp 3500w peak 2500w RMS) in a custom fiberglass box, with a Panasonic 802u LCD Touchscreen HU, and Polk Momo MMC690 (6x9) and Polk Momo MMC650 (6.5) powered by a Clarion APA450 (4 Channel Amp 400w peak 200w RMS)

Thats sweet. What kind? Be sure to check what the RMS capacity is. Max power means nothing. Just be careful and dont buy cheap eBay shit.

lookin at some from w-mart, I know, cheep!!!! Or even some from a local sound system store that i had just noticed a few days ago in a nearby town. Or even if I look around here at AF there might be a used set for cheep sale. All's I know is they will have to be cheap 150-210$ for one or 2 of em. bc i am still lookin for a job and me being 16 and all, once I get one, I will have to save up for like a year and a half just to even think about puttin them in!

Good luck finding a 1000w RMS amp for that cheap.
Here is a good site that has pretty decent deals on amps http://www.justamps.com

Your not going to get a true 1000w amp from walmart. The only thing stereo related that I would buy from Walmart is a cap or one of the more expensive Pioneer Decks. Will maybe the boxes that aren't that bad for the money. As far as subs and amps go i would mess with walmarts stuff especially with what you are going to want to go with

Dude... if you're going to buy subs, do it right. Dont buy that shit from Wal-Mart. You can get away with a cd player from there, but anything else is pretty much a waste of money. I know two people bought subs from Wal-Mart... they were the shittiest sounding subs I have ever heard. Yeah, they were pretty loud, but they sounded like ass. For cheap stuff, hit up eBay and millionbuy.com just stay away from brands like Pyle, Pyramid, Boss, and stuff that doesnt list the brand.

I'm very satisfied with my 2 12" Alpine Type S and a 900 watt Diamond Audio Amp. Inside the car I have 5¼" Alpine Type R in the doors and Alpine Type R 6x9's in the rear and an Eclipse Deck....it wasn't a cheap setup!

I wanna get rid of the subs and amp and have some money to pay off 2 credit cards that have like $200 on them each.

To be honest with ya, i'm not into the thumping anymore....i've had subs since the day I turned 16, and my speakers i have in the doors and the back, are just good enough for my likings.

I don't listen to them hardly at all anymore anyways.

Amps Kits aren't that bad. The capicator are really good. Hell every cap is the same. There is only one company that makes the caps and then everyone buys them from them and puts there labs on it. Some $150.00 1 farad fosgate cap in actually the exact samething as a $78.00 VR4 Cap for Wally World

im going to contradict myself in this statement

i agree 110% with you guys that say dont buy car audio at wal mart, there are just some things you dont buy at a department store, like guitars, can you fucking believe wal mart sells guitars now?? thats a god damn joke, i bought a wal mart guitar at a garage sale for $10 just to see what their like, and theyre shittier then the ones you can get for a penny on ebay, anyways, back to car audio, i have 2 300 watt 6x9's and 1 12 inch 500 watt sub, all pioneer speakers, (yes they sell pioneer at wal mart but thats not where i got mine) now my amp for the 6x9's is a rockford fosgate, i got a good amp cuz i care about my 6x9's i listen to rock, not rap, you dont really need all the bass from a sub for rock, which is why i bought my amp for the sub at wal mart, $80 for 500 (supposedely 500) watts, it sounds freaking incredible for $80,
i guess what im trying to say is dont buy your "primary" source of sound (like 4 1000 watt subs) at wal mart, save the cheap shit for the less important stuff, like front speakers

Currently I have in my car...

Kicker K69 2-way 6x9s in the back
Kicker K57 2-way 5x7s in the front (one is blown though so its not hooked up)
Kenwood eXcelon x959 HU

I also have some Lanzar 100 watt tweeters that I've yet to put in and want to get 2 Audiobahn Immortal Series 12s and 2 JL Audio 1000 watt amps and 1 JL Audio 400-500 watt amp and I'll make my own box. Waiting to see if I end up getting a new car first.
