1/24 Smart by Revell, converted to right-hand drive. Quite possibly the worst kit I have ever made. It's intended to just 'snap' together but nothing fitted properly. The quality of the plastic was really poor too. It nearly ended up in the bin on a few occasions, however, I persisted with the build as it's a replica of my wife's 1:1.
Overall it looks OK but I'm not really happy with it as a model - At least the wife thinks it's cool!

Hi,
nice comment, steven_mckenz !!!!!!!!!!
@Mogster: bad kit quality is somehow normal for Revell Germany.
Nevertheless, I think you made a nice model, the bad fitting base kit isnīt visible anymore. Nice!!!!!!!!!!

The only important thing is that the wife is happy :D
I have had symilar problems with Revell before but now I don't......I don't buy it any more :D
To bad there are no affter market wheels to match real car's.
It does look nice thou despite the Revellnes.

Lol, I'm sorry. I used the ... b/c I was speechless at the interesting look of the car. I was even more surprised that there was an actual car that looked like that!
Anyway, the car's definately not my taste, but it looks like you put it together very well. Good job on it. Can you possibly get a set of rims though that are like your wife's, so it would be more of an exact scale model of her car?

LOL@ the scale blurred out liscense plates. I didn't think this kit was bad at all. What parts did you have trouble with the fitment with? Did you paint up the other pieces other colors?
Anyway, great job! Please can you get some interior pics if possible.
Frank X.

Thanks for the comments guys.
"Can you possibly get a set of rims though that are like your wife's"
I'm on the look out for some wheels but having trouble finding some that look right, one problem is that they are a different size front & rear.
"What parts did you have trouble with the fitment with?"
Most parts!!!! I think the main problem was that it's intended as a snap-together kit and once I'd added layers of primer and paint the parts just didn't fit any more. The worst part was the roof - it's moulded in one piece with the windscreen and rear side windows. I got the front to fit OK but the rear windows stuck out each side like wings! I cut them off and glued them in place separately.

Hmmmm.......fluffy toys.....I guess that's just a girl thing! :iceslolan

Cool car, the first i've seen done. They have a few driving around in our city, mainly for advertisement purposes. Shame it never really caught on.
If you really want a nice model you could think about the Maisto 1:18 diecast, but something you built with your own hands just feels better IMO.

We don't have those cars here in the U.S., but I am familiar with it because I watched a 5th Gear download that crash tested one. It seemed to hold up pretty well for it's tiny size.
The model looks like it could use some paint on the brake lights and the back windows seem to be missing the black outlined sections, but overall it looks pretty good compared to the real pic.

I kept seeing these at my old HS and I was always tempted to pick one up, but never did. Your nice build has made me sorry for that. Great work! You matched the color nicely.
