Nothing has truely changed over the last 3 weeks.
Although, I have gotten my heads. Patriot Stage 2 LS6 heads. Not quite what I wanted, but should be enough to hit 475+ RWHP.
The stock motor is sitting on the stand right now. Basicly waiting on the head bolts, so I can re-install the heads, and sell it off. Gaskets are all cleaned up. No damage to anything. Looks VERY good. Little more carbon than normal.....damn the car for running rich.
Heads are actually back at Patriot. Getting some minor work done, and some things done for free.
Not sure if 10.5:1 compression is enough for my cam. I guess I will find out once all is installed.
Right now....I am down lifters, fuel pump (can wait), and the true duals.
Still kinda undecided if I want to go with stock Y-Pipe and catback with dual cutouts at the headers, or a true dual system. Leaning towards true duals.
Once I get this stock LS1 cleaned up, it will sell, and I will have the parts I need to get back on the road. Hoping my the end of this month.

The stock heads took a while to clean up. I am sure you can tell a difference. May have to look close though.

Some work has been done since that last pic. Stock cam has been re-installed. Timing chain has been aligned and installed. Along with the cam cover, bolts, and oil pump.
Soon I should have an idling clip for everyone. Probably won't idle to great, but it will try.

Submerge the heads in gas for a few days. That will remove alot of carbon deposits.

Pit/Lab named Zia.
And I do live with a girl, you are just gonna have to trust me on this. Nothing in those pics to prove it.
Formula, not too worried about the carbon. They are going right back on the stock block anyways here in a couple days.
BTW...Zia (the one on the right).

Mr. Luos.... congrats on the new build up! Sounds like it'll be worth the wait. What are the cam specs, and why not cut the ls6 heads to get CR up a tad? Compression is your friend!
Wish I had done the LS6 heads instead of the 5.3's. My 5.3's are cut .020" yeilding ~ 11:1. Can't go any bigger on the cam unless I cut the pistons(major PITA afaik), which will prolly happen over the winter. Looking for similar #'s as you..... 470-480 on stock cubes. Buddy @ GMMG has a 240/610 stick he's trying to talk me into...
Hoping bigger CR + bigger stick + 200 hit = high 9's at my race weight.
