I'm 18...and i'm moving soon...don't want to pay insurance for a car...cheaper if i got a bike for campus. the problem is i'm 5 ft. Is there any bike out there that has a smaller body? I need to be able to go on the interstate eventually. Is it possible to ride with taller shoes?? lol...i know that sounds crazy but I always wear 3 inch tall shoes or higher...lol...i have 4 inch leather flat bottom boots too...they don't have a heel which would be better for balance. but just seeing if anyone could help. Myspace message me at http://www.myspace.com/bassbunnybtb or e-mail me at [email protected]!!
~xoxo~alyssa...thanks!

what he said.. How u doin?? :naughty:
as for the shoe's .. you can wear em.. if ya dont want to shift.. ya need flat shoes to be able to get under the shift peg...
i have a friend that wants to get a 600RR and she is like 5'5 or so and 100lbs... she can barely fit flat footed over the seat.. its like 31" to top of seat or something...
it can be done.. but go with the 250 and get it lowered.. it will do just fine in town and as far as i know they will do like 90, 100.. so they would do plenty on the highway
anyway welcome to AF

Ditto,I'd say a 250 Ninja would be a good bike to learn on.Then in a year or so when you feel more comfortable you can get a bigger bike. How about an older bike like a 500 Honda Shadow or a Kawasaki 454 LTD.These bike have a really low seat.

Welcome Alyssa!!!
I have a friend who is 5' 1/2" and she just bought a Ninja 250. It was the only bike that she fit on without feeling uncomfortable... beside that, she doesn't have any experience riding beside the MSF course.
Good luck in your search! Now's the time to look!

I am 6'0" and made a small mistake with my first bike (the pun is intended) I bought a Honda Rebel 250. Great bike, great gas mileage, acceptable power (especially for a 250), but it is SHORT. WAY too small for me, I ended up sitting on the back seath the entire time I drove it. Anyway for someone that short I would recommend it.

Hi...I hope you're not swimming today!!
At 5'5" with a 27" inseam (guy measurement??) all sport bikes I've seen are too high...and the Hondas except the Rebel have foot controls that are too far away - even if the seat is low. My picks are Yam Viragos '84 - '98 (even the 1100's!), smaller are Suz 800 Intruder or 650 (1-cyl), Kawa 500 Vulcans are nice, too! But, you must take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's course...$20 / 20 hours...find the schools near you. And, they have a very fair stand-by policy and will still be teaching for a month or so -- all the classes fill early in the Spring. Here's a link: http://www.mrc.uiuc.edu/otherprogs.html
Good Luck!
