Ok My 1996 P71 has THE bad Intake Manifold. :crying:
Its leaking all around the Thermostat. I am getting misfire in the cylinder directly below the leak.
Is the Antifreeze able to seep all the way thru the intake and valves to the combustion chamber? Cuz if not I got a bad head gasket also.
and I should swap it out while intake is off.
My code is tripin' misfire, and the bank emission is also outta parameters
Also exhaust is humid, and stinks like Antifreeze (Phew!):puke:
Thanks for the Feedback

If the intake is cracked internally(highly possible) it can allow antifreeze to go into the cylinder. The most likely problem for the misfire is coolant in the plug well and allowing the spark to have an easier path to ground.

I think the coolant path on that intake at the front is merely a crossover with the feed in the middle thru the thermostat. I don't think the coolant goes anywhere else in that manifold. The crack would have to be right at the end for it to get into the intake stream. You may have multiple problems like intake gaskets which will be taken care of when you replace the intake. Did the car get hot when the intake cracked? Slight possibility of a head gasket issue if it overheated severely

I bought the car with the leaking Intake so I dont know how hot she ever got.:angryfire
But it only runs hot now, not severely, never red line'd.
The thermostat is directly above the front drivers side cylinder,
(the one in antifreeze misfire)
:killbarne kill barney smiley WTF?
