Hi,
I need to change out my blinker, turn signel, wiper (multifuncition lever)
I think this is my problem, my blinkers work some times,my washers work some times, my break lights work some times.
If I move around the lever enough all functions work, the break lights work some times but if I move the lever around they start working.
So this is the only problem I can think of that would fix all this.
My question is where is a good place to find this lever.
also when I take this lever out could it be just a bunch of loose screws that need to be tighten or should I buy a new one?
Also is it very diffucult to replace, I have rebuilt many engines and am a mechnical Engineer so I think I have the abilty to change this but want to get your input on anything I should watch out for.
Thanks
Steve

Steve ,,pretty easy fix and should be no problem for you,,,get a new sitch,,also I dont think it comes with the actual lever part,,it just has the switch itself,,the lever should come off the switch by pushing it in and slightly turning it and pulling back out,,does the lever have your cruise control on it? If so be careful not to yank to hard and pull your wires out of your cruise control lever

You have to pull the wheel off and remove the air bag module. Care should be noted here as you can mess up your air bag. You also have to have some special tools to pull the wheel off and the locking plate off. After all that, the switch is exposed and it comes out fairly easily. You'll also have to pull the wiring harness thru the colum and unhook it from under the dash. All this is not impossible, but it's not easy for a novice either. The switch runs around $50-$60 also. As was stated earlier, it has nothing to do with your lever.

Thanks for all your help,
I bought a new turn signal switch today and plan on putting it in this weekend, it should fix my problems.
I am trying to get this car back into tip top shape, I just finished replacing the head gaskets, I also had my heads rebuilt, I put a new radiator in.
The car runs beautiful, nice and smooth, better than ever, it also runs cooler than ever.
One problem I have is the Service engine light is still on along with the Low coolant light ( I thourgely cleaned the coolant sensor), I went to Advance Auto today and pulled the codes,
it came up with code P0300 (Misfire Deceted) and code P0401 (EGR flow Insufficient) I am sure there is no misfire problem because I put in new plugs and wires, I am not sure about the EGR Flow problem but the car runs so smooth and nice that I don't think I have any problem with either, is there a way I can clear the codes and then see if they come back, I tried pulling the ECM fuses and waiting a while before putting them back in but the Service Engine light is still on.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

Don't forget to bleed the air from the coolant system. Also if you don't think the EGR is bad try pulling it and cleaning out the passage way. To clear the ECM, pull the negative terminal and pump the brake three times then hook up the battery again. Just make sure the battery is disconnected for a few minutes while doing so.
