My neon spits and gurgles

Hey whats up i have a 96 sohc stick neon. When i accelerate and the car is pulling it spudders but only sometimes. When i come off the clutch hard at a stop sign it will spudder sometimes but not all the time. Does anyone know what the problem could be? fuel? timing belt? i have no clue what it could be? any help would be appreciated thanks

Water in the gas tank, dirt in the tank, bad/clogged injectors. Try running some fuel injector cleaner through it and see if that helps.

Yea thats what i thought at first also i put fuel injector cleaner in 2 times with the next grade octane up from regular i havent tried high test yet though. but after i burnt that tank i still had the same problem. People have told me it probaly isnt the fuel filter because it would have trouble starting and it has no trouble starting. Oh and also if im in like 3rd gear and hard on the gas the car with spudder. I can deal with it but i get really pissed if i cut out in front of someone and the car spudders and doesnt want to go. i just want to find out whats causing it. ill ttyl thanks again

Is your check engine light on? Do your rpms jump around at idle or while driving?

No my check engine light is not on and the rpms dont jump around at all.

No my check engine light is not on and the rpms dont jump around at all.I was gonna suggest changing your spark plugs. How long since you did that last? If it's been more than 10,000 miles you will want to do that anyway.
