Does anybody know anything about port and polish for a 2000 maxima. I am really interested in doing it but I dont have that much information on the job. If anybody has any insight please respond.

You could port your head yourself but what if you screw it up?
I would bring it to a speed shop or maybe even a garage to get that done. (Preferrably a speed shop)
You can plane it while your at it.
Can't tell you how much hp added though. My guess: 5 hp with planing but I'm not a professional.
Happy trails.

thanks for all he info. I will definitly not be doing all the work my self. I know of excellent mechanic that works on 6-7 sec stangs and what not. I just wasnt t sure of what other people had because of the stuff i have read mod wise has not mentioned a port and polish. Also a full port and polish is gaurenteed by my mechanic to give 80 horses minumium at the wheels or he will fully refund my money.

:D :D :D
80 hp. That's a good one.
You have to do alot more than port & polish to get 80 hp.
What do you think Maxinitout?
It's like the guy who told me that he boosted his Intrepid from 235 hp to 400 hp by changing the chip and installing aluminum heads!:)
I'm sorry if I have insulted you but I think you should get a second opinion for the hp add from another garage.

80 hps is correct, gaurenteed by his work. He is not a normal mechanic, he makes a living working on cars and dam good at that. He has the fastest street legal mustag running low 7's. I dont know his work, he is also charging me some 2000 for the work. If you have ever heard of henessey, they work on vipers, there port and polished heads cost 30,000 and give 120 hp to stock vipers. This guy works for them. Dont believe I will show you the dyno tests when I am done. I am also keping my car a sleeper, only lowering about 2 inches and getting struts and sways. Then I will get stillen super and many other engine mod.

Nissan designed excellent flowing heads when they made the VQ30. Most of the flashing has already been removed, and every detail gone over. Contact Dan Paramour Racing in Torrance, CA. They do most the work on the 9 sec. Honda's out there. I'm not here to argue, but I say no way to 80 hp increase from a Port and Polish on the Max. Don in Texas just ported and polished his heads, and I think he's expecting under a 20hp gain. There just isn't that much room for improvement. Add a S/C or NOS, and sure, your starting to get there. But a N/A max simply doesn't flow the air to make that kind of power. This is not a flame, just trying to provide some info. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. :D

Because of the money that I spent I felt that my car become faster after doing this :)
And it's good just if you are using NOS or supercharge ..

Does porting and polishing help out with durability when one is running boost on a S/C or turbo? Does it actually strengthen anything?

I'm not sure but this is the thing that may save me when I'm using NOS ...
All the guys here says that my engine should be explode long time a go
Because I'm running too lean ..
And I don't have guage to mejar that ..
But after doing this my exuast is always black ..
Even after I speed it never become as before ..
