i put a stainless header on my 89 si and i have noticed one of the tubes from the head has turned a weird brass like color could this be a valve prob none of the others have turned as dark

Combination of some parts of the motor running hotter and cheep materials that its made from.

Sigh............Do not listen to the guy above. If you took the time and cleaned the header. It would turn a bronze brown. If you just slapped it on then it will be discolored purple/blue etc.. from the oils on your hand. So I'm guess that tube was clean and turned a nice golden brown.

all Stainless headers turn color, i got a DC sports powdercoated header and its still the same color, i was really impressed with it.

i just rolled 300 miles today and when i looked for any leaks all the pipes were the same bronze color so i guess its ok but i did miss one finger print smudge that sucks but i was going to wrap them any ways so....

yeah im gonna wrap mine also but maybe only for the summer, might want the heat for the winter. but after pricing out the amount needed to wrap just the header was about $80 with maybe alittle left over, which i could possibly use for the section by my shifter which gets hot cuz its alluminum. But some things i want to know, A) do you think it would be bad if the wrap gets wet from rain and possibly trapping water to the pipe which could cause it to rot away quicker? B) Does the ceramic coat make much of a difference then an uncoated?
