As ya Know i owna 93 Honda Prelude, and i got a fine the other day for the exhaust being to excessively too loud! ( I don't think its too loud) lol and got slapped witha $150.00 fine!
They pretty much said fix it or we take ya car pretty much! So What is an inexpensive way of making it quieter, but without cutting the noise completely!
I don't want to shove a but plug in the exhaust cos i will lose power and i don't wanta do that!
I was thinking of putting one of the cadalect converters back in, i think thats how ya spell it lol But ne way!
So whats some ideas?

Butt plug has two "t"s.
Sorry, I hate to see a good word mis-spelled.
How about a resonator or a glasspack - they don't do much for exhaust volume but they change the tone of your exhaust. That sometimes makes a difference. A catalytic converter will definitely make it more quiet, even a hi-flo cat.

Sorry my bad lol my spelling is useless lol
Cos i don't want to go put a whole new exhaust on it cos the one thats on there cost me a bit as it is! So i'd rather just add something to make it quieter rather than replace the whole thing!

get a RSR Exmag, its a little expensive but it sounds great an gives you nice gains plus its not too extremely loud so you wont be gettin any tickets.

Actually Honda Gal....you could easily install it yourself. Don't play money for others to do easy work that your capable of.

If you want to keep your current system, just get a resonator. you will be pleased by the sound difference. I need one on my car (apex N1 w/2.25 straight pipe, very loud(duh) and somewhat raspy when its cold) My friend has almost the same as me but with a resonator and his sounds probably 60% better. deep, not too loud, not tinny. really nice

yeah there already is a resanator on there, and its not tinny its just extremely bassy and its well over the decibals its supposed to be!

Well then either get another muffler or just get two resonators.

Since you've already got a resonator and you don't want re-do your existing set-up your only other options are another resonator or to put the cat back in. But a removeable butt plug might be a good idea for city driving (if they make one for your exhaust) - then you could remove it when you race. You'll have to sacrifice a few horses on the top end but the cops will stop hassling you.

Yeah i think that sounds lika cheaper option, not the butt plug but get another resonator put in! I'm going down on Saturday to organise one for the Skyline so while i'm there i might just get another resonator put in on the prelude! Cheers everyone
