Ok before i get started, here is my car:
1993 taraus GL wagon
3.0L V6

The car stalls when stopped in gear (intermittantly), and after hunting down and fixing a vacuum leak, that seemed to fix the problem, atleast until I took it around the block and it happened yet again. On my dad's suggestion, I used a pair of vice grips to pinch off the hose going to the brake booster to see if that was leaking internally, but since then I havent been able to really duplicate the problem. The idle still drops a bit low when stopped in gear, but it doesnt stall and acceleration is about back on par with where it was when this all started happening (once about a month ago, then about a 2 weeks ago it happened when it felt like it, and today up until i started looking for what was going on, it stalled 6 times in 15 minutes, 3 were just sitting in a parking space idling).

Not to sure where to go from here, I thought maybe an o2 sensor was screwed, but they both appear fine, wires look good, and i dont get a check engine light. So yeah, the board is open to suggestions.

Could be a host of things, but being a ford ( I have an Expedition that had this same problem) the first thing I would look at would be the idle air control valve. These things are notorious for getting carbon build-up and ultimately sticking resulting in the problems that you mentioned. The problem also begins very sporadic and then just seems to be there all of the time. Take off the IAC valve and clean out with some carbuerator cleaner. Even if it is not the problem these things need to be cleaned on occasion.

Go check out this site, it has the info you need regarding IAC removal/replacement. Scroll down to the part concerning the IAC == it has a bunch of other stuff all related to various sensors. Good site.

well I went to that site, which does have alot of good information on it, although I am not entirely sure of it's relevancy since my engine isn't an SHO, but seeing as it's 1am now and now my car is stalling when i'm out driving (it stalled once when first put into gear, and again at a 45 mph cruise a minute or so later) and even with a flashlight it's a bit hard to see or look for it, it sticking would make sense.

any idea on how to tell if it just needed to be cleaned or if it's shot once i find the thing and pull it out short of put it back in and drive it? only reason i ask is your car stalling in moving traffic isnt exactly the safest of things, especially with how people drive here in orlando.
