CV Boot Install

does anyone have a direct walk through for a CV boot install?

buy a haynes manual (15 bucks) or a helms which is way better (70 bucks) i think haynes will be ok for this tho.

if your car is pretty old u might want to just replace the whole driveaxle (tahts what im gonna do, cos ummm i dont wanna deal with those cv boots and grease n shit, and well, ill have no driveaxles :)

i have a chiltons, will that suffice?

yes. but you should already know that if you opened the front cover.

Although if he had a Haines I could understand -- their instructions for dropping a motor would probably be ...

1. Put car on jack stands
2. Loosen motor and tranny mounts
3. Disconnect all hoses and lines
4. Pull out motor and tranny

RTFM. it's all in there if you try opening the damn book. it even has pictures. the specs, tools, and parts necessary are even listed at the beginning of each chapter.

I used to have a Chiltons for my Prelude... i KNOW it's all in there.

I remember when I used the Haynes manual to do my suspension....lets just say I hope you can read well, because most of the pics they show you are from older models. Thats why I will be buying a Helms. At first you might think that man I don't wanna spend $60 on a stupid book....but You can easily make up that $60 by doing the install youself. :D

CJ, not to mention all the money you will save AFTER the first install... CV joint was like 4 hours labor I THINK -- which is like $200 in labor in most areas
