When flooring your car...

For one, is it bad for your car to be floored? (not all the time, just once in a while)
Also as far as getting from 0-60 as quickly as possible, is it better to just mash all the way down on the gas right away, or is it better to gradually floor it? And I mean for average cars... not ones that have like 350 HP

Actually, is good for your engine to floor it once in a while helps keep the carbon bulid up inside the combustion chamber down, And as for 0-60 it depends on the fuel delivery and engine management... for a car equiped with EFI you would probley be better of flooring it because the computer can manage the fuel better without running into lean or rich mixture which can cause powerloss. With a carburated engine this happens often and would be best to learn how to apply the gas padel to avoid this, i guess :)

I agree. However, flooring it in first gear can put unnecessary stress on the driveline and chassis, (unless your car has a truly feeble power output. )
So unless you really want or need to floor it in first gear, save it for the highway.

also traction comes to mind, if you floor it and you just sit there spinning your tires, you're not going to be as fast as if you put it in slower and keep your tire glued to the ground. also, tire wear will increase if you squeal your tires.
