Dynamat

Is dynamat really worth the money? I was thinking about getting some in my trunk but at $150 dollars i dont have the money so i was just wondering if it is worth the 150 or what. Thanks for any help.

Dynamat does reduce rattling and makes your system sound a whole lot better in my opinion. Some people don't care much for dynamat, but I guess it's all up to you. If you really want a professional sounding system I would recommend getting your trunk done.

it's worth it on the doors, but the trunk is questionable. It's definitely not worth the $150 price tag that Dynamat holds though, check out brownbread, secondskin, or raammat instead

I have no speakers in the trunk or even playing into the trunk .... so it would be a waste for me

i would only use it on places where the trunk rattles whan bass hits like the trunk lid but thats my :2cents:

My car rattled like a b***h originally. It wasn't pushing much either...maybe like 200rms to the subs and 160 total (35 *4) to the mids and highs.

With the doors shut is was SOOO loud outside the car, even at normal volumes you heard it clearly clean across the street..with the car closed up.

I got sick of it. I bought 6 bulk packs of Extreme Dynamat (216 sq. ft) @ a really good price...like maybe $125 a box of so. Lined every sqaure inch of that car with it. The floor, the roof, the outer door skin on all 4 doors, inner door skins on all 4 doors, inner part of the a, b, and c pillers. outer portion of all the pillers as well, the trunk floor, sides, trunk...everything. Then I threw on 120 sq. ft of super insulator to cut out road noise and keep noise inside the car. It's a double foil sided R4 insultating material. Thermal, Acousitic, water and vapor barrier.

Wow...what a difference. My system now pulls 1500rms, I've tuned it up to 1800rms measuring ac volts with a multimeter before though....on the subs...and 240 rms on the mids and highs. That around 2000rms total. When the cars open, It's super loud and super clean at 90% full volume (which is considered the full volume). Once I shut that car...nothing...no bass...no rattles....hardly hear a thing, even the mid and highs are almost no existant. Open it and wham...loud and clean as heck. My car would have rattled to pieces before.

You don't NEED to do the whole stinking car like me if you don't want to or don't have the $$. I went nuts with the stuff. But it's worth even penny I paid for that extreme dynamat. It and the super insultator keeps the stereo sound inside the car and the road noise out, the car is a lot cooler in the summer time because the whole car is covered in a doulbe layer of r-4 thermal insulator between the 2 of those products. The dynamat killed ALL the body rattles from driving down the road on that the car had before, and it rattles NONE, every with the system volume cranked up fully to 1800-2000rms.

Get a box and use it in stratigic locations. Extreme is easy install. Peal an stick, no heat gun the the orignal needed. If forms easy and holds well. Once you get it on...umm..it's on. Use it in the trunk, roof and the doors, whereever it rattles or flexes. You don't need complete coverage like me. For sound dampening, minimum coverage goes a long way. Just a small stratigic part of a panel covered kills the rattles...if you install it like this you can make one box go a heck of a long way.
