I have a 1995 olds aurora and when i turn on my a/c it sounds rough so i put in a can of quick charge refrigerant thinking that would cure the problem but it didnt. a/c does blow cool air. oh and when it rains hard my power steering goes out for a few minutes and my dic says check charge system but everything is good no leaks in power steering or anywhere and there is a brand new serpintine belt on the car. Please help or respond with any info

Hey there,
The 3 different problems you describe could possibly be related. You describe 1)a noisy compressor 2)loss of power steering and 3)not getting charge on system/faulty alternator. All of those things are on the same belt/pulley system and therefore are driven by the serpentine belt/crank pulley. I'd check out the belt and all of the pulleys it connects, starting with the compressor since you hear noises there. Also, if you can, check the low and high side pressures in the A/C system(need manifold guages to do this...or maybe just low side w/a 134a refil kit). That info can give you a clue to system operability.
good luck - Drew
