code 42

Hi, i posted before with a stalling problem while in gear at a stop.This problem still exists but i stalled the other day and re-started the car and the service engine light came on so when i got home i used my gm diagnostic and got the code 42 which is--Electronic spark timing(EST)-open or shorted.the service engine light is not coming on now but my question is would this cause the stalling problem while in gear at a stop or is it not related to the stalling?Thanks for any help

sure this could very well cause the car to stall,,The ignition control circuit may be grounding out or have a faulty bypass line,,get a schematic and trace her down to repiar your problem
