i have a 94 Z28 hatchback and when your going down the road and hitting the normal bumps in the road my hatch seems to be rattling (cant figure out what else it could be) and was just wondering if any of you have had the same problems and how you took care of them

Not too sure but on my 98 Z28 there's two rubber stops that are screwed into the rear corner of the lid. Try adjusting those to get a snug fit when closed... Well first off I guess see if the hatch lid has any play in it when shut, it could be your panels on the interior or your dome light or sumthin, it happens.

i tried adjusting those rubber stops all the way out and didn't have any affect on the rattling everything else seems to be fairly snug i even closed the hatch while i was in the trunk and tried pushing up on it and everything seemed to have been pretty snug i checked out the spare tire and jack and everything was snug there as well

I had a problem similar to that on my 87 camaro. It was the latch where the trunk locked in at. Try shaking the latch where it locks in at... If its that then just tighten up those bolts...

I have the same problem with my 89 camaro. Not sure what it is but I have a couple ideas. 1 I took out the pulldown motor for my hatch pretty sure that causes it to be somewhat loose. 2 I never seen a 94 but in the back of my 98 theres all these plastic panels fastened to the sides of the trunk with plastic bolts. They tend to loosen up all the time from vibration. LIke I said I dont know about a 94 but it could be the pulldown motor or somthing. Or maybe you just left some tools under your seat :dunno:

I "HAD" the same problem earlier this week on my 94 Z28. I found it to be a constant rattle when riding over small bumps during normal driving, rather annoying. It is more and likely the latch for your hatch. A SIMPLE but TEMPORARY fix is to wrap the latch with tape similar to Electrical tape...its some type of cloth like tape. A couple of wraps later I shut the hatch, much tighter too when opening and closing...and that took care of that. However, the tape will eventually wear through but for now until you can find a better fix you can do that. I saw this on another forum and it will work till I can find a better solution.
