Hey all well i bought and tryed almost everything. My civic hb will not strip. I used CSC and let it sit for 7 hours, nothin changed, Today i read that sometimes CSC cant not remove clear coats and other laquers. so i went and bought brake fluid to remove the clear coat then put it in the CSC. So far nothing! I thought i got all the clear coat off but i may have been wrong. So i re applyed and re scurbbed the brake fluid and now its sitting in CSC again. Im afraid it might not work again :disappoin So if any of you now how to get off Rustoleom Clear coat please tell me this is driving me insane. Or tell me what im doing wrong! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Try spraying the part with foaming oven cleaner such as (in the UK) Mr Muscle, then leaving it for a few hours in a sealed plastic tub. Then rinse with cold water. Works for me on ten-year-old spray jobs.
Make sure you use this stuff outside and with rubber gloves, it's really horrible!

yes, always be careful with stripping paint, make sure you dispose of it correctly, paint chips can kill you. i remember i was searching about this topic a couple weeks ago and i found a link on this forum to a great website that tested a bunch of strippers on different paints.
