could u guys give me an idea on how much it would cost to put a 350 in my 91 1500 i would probably replace the transmission also, right know it has 305 w/273,880 miles on it, it leaks oil somewhere round wher the engine ans treans meet, and was i told it would cost around 900 to fixe it includind labvor, ther is an exaust leak that i think is comming from the exaust manifold, or would it be cheper to repair the engine like anoverhaul or something, tried searching for it on the net but im all doped up cause i just had my wisom teeth removed so e xuse my mistakeds

I wouldnt put any more money into that tired old motor.
As far as what you can get a 350 for, that greatly depends on who you know.
If you are looking to go for the old throttle body FI, like you have now, I would say you will probably pay around $700-$1200 for a used 5.7 motor with about 60-90k miles. Add another $800-1000 for the tranny.
I know many are going to say rebuild. But that can get costly(unless you are mechanically inclined or know someone who is)and also rebuilds never seem to get as good of mileage, in my experiences, or run as long as a stock factory built motor.
Personally I would buy a badly wrecked 96-98 and change the entire dash/harness/ecm/motor/tranny and upgrade my truck to a newer model with a better motor.
Probabaly wouldnt cost much more and you will have a ton of extra parts.
