My jimmy is a 4wd. I found out the front wheels werent turning, so we investigated. Broken vaccum hose. We fixed it and 4 hi and low works great now.
Question, without unhooking the vaccum hose we connected, how can I take it out of 4wd and into 2wd. My neighbor, a lifetime mechanic is positive there is a way to take it out of 4wd, a level, or something to disengage the front wheels.
There is no 4wd shifter like jeeps and other 4x4 vehicles have. Altough, if it passes emmissions, we will buy a new transfer case and install one, right now there is no shifter.
Right now all it has is a button press for 4hi and low.

If you are in 4 hi right now, press the 4 hi button again.

What is wrong with pushing the button? Isn't there a 2 HI button?

There is no button for 2 hi. When the thing is in 4wd, either 4 hi or lo, the respective light on the button is lit up either green or amber. If you are in 4 hi now, the bulb below 4 hi will be lit green. All you do to disengage from 4 hi is push the 4 hi button again, the green light will click off.

one quick question...
we have an old 87 chevy s-10 that we just beat the piss out of and drive it through a field and just have fun with...
anyway, my jimmy's master cylinder only half works..it only makes the front brakes work.
is it possible to take the master cylinder of an 87 s-10 and put it on my 93 Jimmy? The look the same size.
