capicitor

anybody get a capicitor you have to charge up with a seperate resisitor?
A buddy of mine gave me one and said it came with the resistor to charge it up..but he lost the instructions and it was never installed so..when i installed it figured it would charge up like all the others and..no...any sugg?

you do have to charge capacitors, i don't remember what ohm resistor you need, but you coul probably contact the manufacturer and ask them, then just hold the resistor with a pliers and connect it to the positive battery wire and positve post on the capacitor. good luck.

PS you can buy resistors at any radioshack or store like that.

i figured it out...there is a turn on connection on the cap...it jus looks like one of the screws that holds the digital readout on the cap
