Just wanted to know how to get rid of the governor. I don't know if US cars come with them or not but I know some Canadian cars do. Sunfire and cavaliers being some of them. Anyways my question is: How do I get rid of it?

Don't waste your time...chances are you are you don't have enough money stuck into the car to even think about needing it removed for the 1/4 mile...much less for street use.
Beides, if you remove it, it is considering odometer tampering...making resale value $0.00
There is a way to do it...but wait until your fast enough and want to keep the car

Get a real J-body and re-chip the ECM like I did ( :P ), ever seen a J hit 153mph...mine has. the 95 Gt and Z models as well as the 2.2L came with a ECM that is chippable, other than that it's a dangerous and illegal thing to do. SirCull is right, if you have the knowledge and $$$ to put into the car then you should know the way to get around it. the 95 ECM is but 1 way to do it correctly, the other involves a lot more money.
