My father in law has a 1995 Explorer and the a/c started to cycle about every 3-5 secs. Thought it was low on freon. Bought a kit at Walmart but when he went to charge it the guage already said full. He discharged a little to make sure and charged it back up. Didn't fix the prob. I suggested the low pressure sw. Got one of a friend and tried it and it fixed the prob. Got a new one, and for some reason he discharged the whole system. He just released all the freon he could. Installed the new switch. Recharged it with what he had left in the walmart kit and I dont know how much was in the can but the clutch wont engage at all now. My opinion it's still low on freon. Anybody else agree?

My opinion on the so-called "recharge kits" is :nono: :nono: :nono:
If he released all the refrigerant, it needs evacuated and recharged PROPERLY!!!

Once you discharge an A/C system, you need to have it evacuated to get all of the air and moisture out of the system. When the system is evacuated, to can have it recharged.
