$14,500.00 and one hell of a sore ass. Just kidding, $14,500 is true, and I knew about most of it's issues, but it turned into a f'ing nightmare when I got it back... new clutch, needs trans rebuilt, speedo cable, needs #3 cylinder figured out, new front wheel & tires (want wider).... Stuff I was anticipating, but not all at once. :angryfire

C'mon Jim, you mean to tell me you don't have any friends with toys that their other halves are telling them they MUST get rid of?
I just lucky, friend bought it for misc. parts for another project. never ended up getting to it, wife wanted it gone. He knew I'd been scrounging the trenches for a cheapie 3rd gen, then I got the call.
Now, don't get me wrong, she ain't perfect. I have my fair share of rotted sheet metal to deal with. But atleast as far as the power plant is concerned, I more than got my monies worth.

Hey Jim, do you have any more pics of your Camaro? Or a camera that you can take pics then upload to your computer? Because i'd love more pics of your car and then I can make another BG if you want for you or your Camaro because I love the way your car looks.

Cost me $3,250 US. But then afterwards, I realized the tires were rotted (had deep cracks everywhere) so that was about $300 more. Then I looked on the inner upper left window and found an old sticker that said next oil change was at like 72K miles, and the car was at 86K miles. Pulled out the dipstick and sure enough, the oil was black and sludgey. So Paid another $100 something to get the oil all flushed out. So all in all, it was roughly around $3700 altogether. Not too bad of a deal.

14,500 is a deal for what I got. Like I said I was aware of the problems, just wasn't planning on everything taking a dump at one time.
Go try and find a honest to goodness 70 RS (Can't prove it's a Z28) with a near perfect body (it does have a few flaws) with a 4 speed AND a 454. and yes I know it's not original (no camaro ever came with a 454), but that's what I wanted. A cherry 70... I didn't see many for less than $30k (matching numbers). Most of what I found were complete shitheaps or race only cars. Matter of fact this was one of 3 70's that I found in 8 years of looking that were in the shape I was looking for, and in my price range.
Yeah it sucks that it has the problems it does, but for a 70 fresh off a rebuild, you'd pay at LEAST double what I paid for it.
-
Oh and I intend to keep it the same except I want 8" or 10" front rims / tires. The tiny assed tires on it now make me very uncomfortable driving it.

Nah, none of my friends have enough balls to buy a toy like mine. AND I've got a really cool wife, I was hemmin and hawin on it and she's actually the one that convinced me to get it. I had just passed up 2 71's and a 72, and she said... "You like it??? Then buy the damn thing. BUT! I call dibs on the hood!"

$1850 w/79,000 miles (at the time of purchase) very little body rust(driver door only), could use a paint job, and at the time, i didn't know of all the problems, which i found and fixed later, and still fixing. Got the berli for $350, and it's runs good, body is nasty though. "Dibs on the hood" earl, your wife is awesome. I hope mine is like yours.

B: you "hope" your wife is cool? :dunno:
If you meet a girl and she offers to wax your hood in the parking lot, that's pretty much a no brainer.
