 Hey there,
Can any of you lovely techie-minded nissan primera (p11-144 '00-'01 model) owners help me.
What I am looking for is some sort of picture of the rear view of your stereo!
Reason - The stereo is made by Blaupunkt, and obviously has the connectors for the remote control (that is missing from my April '00 model, but added to late '00 and after models).
I have a blaupunkt 'Thummer' remote control that is compatible with many many blaupunkt stereos, and I figure it is essentially the same remote that Nissan added to the newer models.
So here's what I need from you guys with a remote control unit, if you are willing and able to take the next step.
Using a 2 inch long nail that will fit into the somall holes either side of the radio, simply push the nail softly into the holes until you hear a click. You will feel the nail moving in further. This is the lock release for the radio that holds it in place in the dash. Carefully remove the radio, making extra sure not to unplug the wires - otherwise you will be asking your nissan dealer for the unlock code!
If you have a digital camera, can you take a picture of the back of the unit - If I remember rightly I have 2 (or possibly 3) connector blocks at the back of mine that are actually plugged into the stereo - and one free - this one being almost in the middle top of the stereo.
What I am presuming is that this is where the remote plugs into.
So if any of you kind souls could do this it would be tremendous help. I'll even buy you a pint if I ever meet up with you.
Also if any of you need to know where to plug that stereo mute cable from your mobile hands-free carkit I can help you out with that.
Thanks a million all.
P.S. You can send any pics directly to me at:

obviously remove the **nospam** bit! ;-)
Thanks all,
Liam

Well Liamo
I can supply a finisher for the dash in the 144 Primera.
This finisher will take a standard head set. It has a
new hole for the hazard light switch and all. It's made
by Nissan. So its prefect in color and fitting.
I put one in my own Primera, I can e-mail u a pic if you like.
I think I even have one in stock. I'll supply the whole lot.
Finisher, Hazard light switch + Harness.
Let me know.

Hey Patrick, they would be absolutely cool. I am not completely interested in changing out the stereo, as I think it is good enough, though I am very interested to see what the replacement finisher looks like.
I am looking around some dumps in Dublin to try to find a wrecked primera with a remote. I might be able to retro fit it to my own if I cannot get the other remote working.
Ta,
Liamo

I know the steering wheel on the primera with the bulit in remote is different, We tried one here before and it woudn't work, You'd have
to change the steering wheel. Here's a pic of the finisher.
