Broken Drivers Seat Back

Hello All,

I'm wondering if anyone has had & fixed the same problem as I now have. A few days ago, I got into my truck and I feel the armrest go to the right and the seat back is twisting that way also. Apparently some of the framework under the upholstery has either broken or come loose. I think probably broken, but I'd like to hear from others before I go ripping into it. It's very uncomfortable to drive. If you have any ideas, please let me know. The truck is an 02 Silverado 1500 extended cab 4 x 4 complete with piston slap and cumlative drivetrain lash! The seats are buckets in cloth covering.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dave

Am I the only one in Chevy world with this problem?

My truck was a 93. After I got it back from a recall where the dealership tightened something in the seat the left back channel bent and broke right above the hinge. I had to use some plate to tack on to give some extra support. You'll need a mig or a tig to weild it. Good luck

I took the seat apart, the frame is broken and will need to be replaced.

just had to replace the entire interior on a stolen truck like this.

was VEEERY pricey and you will have a hard time finding someone that will split up the driver seat from the others.

Good luck
