I was curious about how to best get the power to the ground in an Eclipse 2G. I know that motor has bigger balls than what I'm getting out of it. I'm not looking for anything drastic just a little something to tap into the power the motor isnt letting me have. And how can I improve the shifts with an A/T it shifts hard even when just cruising, I would like to have a smoother shift so I don't scre the shit out of my friends when they ride with me.

Get a 14b, DSMlink, and a 1g BOV. That will get you rolling.

Actually if you have a stock 2g eclipse your motor is a 420a not a 4g63.

Um.... the non turbo models came with the 420a, the turbo models came with the 4g63t.

Silentnight, which model of the Eclipse do you have? RS, GS, GS spyder, GST, GST spyder, or GSX? Base model 2g Eclipse is the Eclipse RS. From the title of this thread I'm guessing you have a GST, GST spyder, or GSX. Just wanted to make sure.
The link below is a good guide for your upgrade path for more power:

I assumed it was a turbo since he was asking about the 4g63....but maybe he dosn't know what engine he actually has.

I though maybe he had the 420a because he didn't mention turbo anywhere in his post.

In that case, go to 2gnt.com and look at the mod guide.

As far as the A/T shifting goes. Get a bottle of Lucas Transmission Stop-Slip. It is amazing stuff. Just add it in with the existing tranny fluid. You'll be surprised.
