Plum Crazy `71 Hemi Cuda Convertible! Completed!

Well, it seems like forever since I posted a completed project here! It`s been about a year now.
Anyway, this is a `71 Hemi Cuda Convertible. According to Barret Jackson, real 1:1 cars are worth in the $millions.
I used the Nash Bridges kit as a basis, and added details including wiring and plumbing. The paint is Testor Plum Crazy, which is a beautiful color. I actually used Duplicolor clear over top the Testors paint, about 7-8 coats worth. :uhoh: No worries though, as it caused absolutely 0 problems. Krylon white was used for the interior. Flocking material from the local Ben Franklin was used for carpet. I wasn`t impressed with the decals for the dash, so I decided to hand paint all the details and wood trim. The decals are afternarket, but I can`t remember where I got them, as it`s been about 6 months since I started this.
Tell me what you think!

That is one hot car, more muscle in this forum please :iceslolan Lovin the paint (great shine!) and the woodgrain. I´d have painted the shaker semi gloss black and used black decals for the sides though, but that´s just me. Awesome build, hope you´re happy with it.

Thanks tonio. It`s good to see a familiar face again. Haven`t seen much from some of the other "oldies".

Thanks. Usually I start with the lightest color, and paint that solid on the area that will have wood trim. I follow with the darker colors. I thin them to about 50%, and use a *very* fine brush and just try to use long thin strokes. It takes a while, but is very rewarding. The center console toward the narrow part is very tricky on this kit when trying to do this.

Very nice. The decals are probably Fred Cady.

I am sure they aren`t Fred Caddy. I had trouble finding white ones, and I actually posted a message a looooong time ago asking where to find them. I will try to find out where I got them and post it here.

By the by, for those who care, this was inspired by an incredible Hemi Cuda Convertible clone that was once on the opening screen on AOL. :D

Update:
The Decals are Keith Marks items. They are decent quality. I wouldnt say they are on the same level as Slixx, but they are definitely good quality. The white covered the dark purple color *very* well.

I looooove plum crazy purple! Very nice car. How did that kit go together? I've been debating building it for a while now.

Thanks again everyone! It`s nice to see a muscle car so well received here!

The kit went together great for the most part. Since it is a 20+ year old kit, some of the details are a little goofy. In particular, the way the edge of the dash meets the windsheild. But, no major body modifications were needed, and everything seemed to go together without issue.

Very nicely done!
The white decals and accents make this a pretty unique looking Cuda.

No, sorry. :( I actually fixed the shaker assembly to the engine on this one, even after taking the time to fabricate throttle return springs. Maybe not the brightest thing to do. :icon16:

Beautiful work! Please dont be such a stranger around these parts.

Thanks. Yeah, I missed this place for longest time. I should be posting alot more now, and will hopefully have completed pictures of my C6 soon. Good to see some of the "old guys" are still here. There are alot of names I dont recognize.

Great colour on the outside, interior is in my eyes just white, some accents with black or silver might have increased the effect.
