Muffler Question

Hey if i were to get a new muffler, on the engine i have (98 GTP Supercharged) would i be able to get a dual exhaust that has that REALLY deep and loud "growl" to it, like especially when i accelerate??? cause i hate when i see these other dumb tricked out cars like civics and whatnot with those exhausts that sound like little farts i geuss i can say lol. but i would want something on mine to have that nice loud, really deep growl to it, know what i mean? those sound so cool.

Flowmaster or other performance mufflers will give you the sound you are looking for. You will not actually have a dual exhaust because it is a single pipe all the way back to the axle before it splits to a dual. However, it is the mufflers that will make the sound difference.

Im not 100% sure but if you remove the resonator and put flowmasters you will get a pretty good sound.
p.s. it doesnt really matter cause just about all Honda owners will be sucking on your exhaust fumes anyway, and you wont here them farting out there ass's while they try to catch you...

haha, yea thats true, good way of putting it, thanks for the info though! i was thinkin of getting flowmasters a while back for my old car but never got around to it.

so is it possible to put dual exhaust (or at least look like duals) on an se with the 3.1?

Yes but you will need to do some custom fabrication after the cat. You will want to route the exhaust piping around the fuel tank and then cross the back of the car to the second muffler. It should be possible to use an exhaust from a GT or GTP to cut down on some of the fabrication since the cars are basically the same.

Check rockauto.com for an exhaust system for your car and then look at the ones for the dual exhaust GT or GTP. It will give you an idea of what they look like and help you decide what you want to use.
