CD player won't play

I have a 2002 chevrolet silverado 1500 z71 4x4! The Cd player has been working fine but now all it will do is take the cd but it won't play it. I have cleaned it with a cd laser lens cleaner disc and it has even been taken out and cleaned but still no go! Do I need a new one already?

I also have a 2002, and a there have been a couple of things that I have noticed:

1) the CD player seems to be getting to where it doesn't want to eject (i.e. it takes a while after I push the button before it actually ejects the disc), and

2)I can turn my whole head unit off, but it still sounds like the CD motor is spinning, or something in there is making a humming noise.

Blender you know that there is a cooling fan behind the head unit to keep all those electronics cool right?

Seriously? I had no idea... that must be it, then.

buy a cheap aftermarket, it will get you better sound and skip protection and more control over the stereo.
