Killed a 3-g Eclipse in the 5.0

Not to brag much or anything but this guy only had an I-4, but he thought he had something much better. Ok so I was just cruising down a fairly busy area when up behind comes this slight buzz and a silver car with a for sale sign on it. Next thing i know he's still pulling up towards me. I was in 3rd gear just kinda cruising, my car starts to put out in about 3rd gear, but whatever I smashed it down(needed to build it up to about 2500 rpm before it got moving) by the time he had gotten to me he must have been revving up high in third, but i began to pull away. So then its a red light, i dart into the next lane and wait for him to pull up, he starts bitching baout how it's a 2.4 l vs a 5.0, i told him mine was basically stock just exhaust, plugs wires, and new rims and tires. He still wants to go form a dig, I assume his car is lighter than mine, so whatever, we both spin a little off the line, but i just pull on him like he was standing still...Nothign special I guess but I am proud of my car, I usually don't get a good challenge in it, i knwo it's not that fast but he wound up at least 4 cars lengths back by the time i got into third gear...I dunno, not saying my cra runs 10's or anythign I just thought I did good, lol. Late.

r u sure it wasn't a V6? those 2.4s are dogs

You have to keep in mind he may have been a bad driver lol. Most people don't really know how to drive their cars. My friends 86 corvette beat a brand new mustang cobra and the cobra should have smoked him. It all depends on the driver thats why I personally like automatics you get consistant times everytime you race.

Outcome was as it should be, the more powerful car came out on top. Yah sure maybe he was a bad driver but still us import guys don't have much unless we have some form of forced induction or a damn good power/weight ratio going for us.


My friend has the best of both worlds, V8 5.0 with a large ass turbo and he can get her squiggly in 3rd which is pretty fucking sexy.

yeah I know thats why I'm looking into putting a v8 in my car but I'm not completely sure if it will fit or not I'm 99% sure it will fit. We got a v8 supercharged in my friends hatchback so I'm pretty optimistic.

Not by much, the difference is only about 150 lbs. What makes the 5.0 great is it’s basically a sport compact with a V8 and RWD.

Heh, I actually believed that my car was lighter than most people make it out to be people always assume the Mustang is like some friggin brick on wheels, but they obviously didn't do their homework.
