a couple questions

ok first...how do you replace valve stem seals? i've searched all over and can't find any directions. how hard is it and do i need any special tools?

second...since my tranny is out, i took the flywheel off to get resurfaced. i want to replace the bolts. the dealership wants like $3.60/bolt. i really don't want to pay over $20 for 7 damn bolts! so would it be all right if, say, i went to Lowe's and matched up the bolts (thread wise, etc) and got 7 of them? same length, and everything.

thanks for any help.

Steve

I'm not to sure of the specifics on replacing the valve seals. I think you need to remove the valves and use pliers or something to pull off the old seals and press on the new seals. As for the flywheel bolts, DO NOT use anything but bolts specifically meant for the flywheel! Those bolts have an extremly high torque spec and they stretch when you put them on. That's why they can't be reused.
